# Data Overview

This page is meant to show the overall health of the school based on Summit Learning metrics. It shows how many students have 0, 1, 2-3, and 4+ incompletes in their courses as well as similar breakdowns for focus areas behind, projects turned in, and cog skill/Math Unit scores.

#### Student Outcomes

This section is an overview of how students are doing with respect to project and concept unit completion, focus area progress, and cognitive skill and math concept scores.

Here is an overview of what the metrics on the dashboard mean:

Incompletes

0 Incompletes: % of students at my school currently passing all of their courses

1 Incomplete: % of students at my school currently passing all but 1 of their courses

Power Focus Areas

On Track: % of students at my school on track in all focus areas across all of their courses

1-2 Behind: % of students at my school who are 1-2 focus areas behind. The students in this group are NOT 1-2 behind in every course they take, but in total across all their courses. For example, if John is on track in Math, English, and History, but 1 focus area behind in Science, he will be in the “1-2 Behind” group. If another student, Matt, is 1 focus area behind in Math, 1 in English, 0 in History, and 2 in Science, then he will be in the 3-4 behind group, since he is 4 focus areas off track total.

Projects

0 Overdue: % of students at my school who have no overdue projects in any of their courses

1 Overdue: % of students at my school who have 1 project overdue total, across all of their projects. This works very similarly to the way “1-2 Behind” works in the pfa metric.

Cognitive Skills

In this section, we calculate a student’s cog skill percentage as the average cog skill percentage across all of his/her courses. The main consequence of this is that it’s possible for a student to be in the “70-85%” category even if they are below 70% in one or more courses.

Math Concepts

This is calculated the same way as cognitive skills, but since a student is typically only in one math course at a time, it’s often simply his/her concept percentage in that course.

## Project Based Learning Implementation

This section shows you data about how project based learning implementation is going at your school. It shows you the percentage of students are assigned projects, have requested feedback, and have received feedback, as well as data around project scoring.

Here is an overview of what the metrics on the dashboard mean:

Projects Currently Assigned

% of students at my school who currently have a project assigned to them in any of their courses. We define a student as having a project currently assigned to them if they are assigned the project in the platform and the project is not past its due date. It is not dependent on whether or not the student has submitted/resubmitted/not submitted the project.

Feedback requested in last 2 weeks

% of students at my school who have requested feedback on a checkpoint in any of their courses in the past 2 weeks

Feedback given in last 2 weeks

% of students at my school who have been given checkpoint feedback in the past 2 weeks for a project in any of their courses.

Projects submitted but not scored

% of students who have submitted a project, but that project has not yet been scored by their teacher.

Project scored in last 2 weeks

% of students who have received a project score in the past 2 weeks for a project in any of their courses.

## Self Directed Learning Implementation

This section shows you data about how content/focus areas are doing at your school. It shows you the percentage of students at your school who have attempted a focus area in the last two weeks, the percentage of students who are fewer than 3 PFAs behind.

% of students who have set a goal in the past 7 days

Checked-In In Last 2 Weeks

% of students who have had a mentor check-in in the platform in the past 2 weeks

Checked-In In Last 4 Weeks

% of students who have had a mentor check-in in the platform in the past 4 weeks

Average Check-In Length During Last 4 Weeks

For all mentor check-ins that occurred at this school in the past 4 weeks, take the average length of time that they lasted.
