We also respect the value of local control. School and district leaders are best positioned to determine how to engage families about new programs and initiatives. Some schools require parental permission before students can use online services like the Summit Learning Platform, while others have procedures to communicate with families about changes in curriculum, instruction, and technology. These decisions are made at the local level in accordance with district and state policies.
