Renewal with the Summit Learning Platform


The time has come to decide if you’ll be continuing your journey with the Summit Learning Program in the 2019 - 2020 School Year. We’ve done our best to make sure that the re-enrollment process is as clear and painless as possible, and to give you time to reflect on the past year and set your goals for next year.

Different schools will see different checklist items depending on their school’s renewal conversations so far with their mentors. Each checklist item will have a clear deadline. If you feel like you are unable to meet a checklist deadline, please let your mentor know as soon as possible!

Here are some items you might see on your checklist:

Start the planning process for next year

First and foremost, we want to know if you would like to continue using the Summit Learning Platform for the following school year. (We hope you are!) We will ask you if you are interested in

  1. Renewing the program for your current Grade-Level Teams
  2. Expanding to an additional Grade-Level Team next year.

Review the Program Requirements with your mentor

Some schools who haven’t had re-enrollment conversations with their mentors yet will see a checklist item to speak with their mentor before renewing. During this step, you will be asked to review the important Program Requirements of the Summit Learning Program, including the 3 Pillars (Project Time, Personalized Learning Time, and 1:1 Mentoring) and a commitment to the program’s professional learning, benchmarking, and grading policy.

After you review the Program Requirements, we’ll have you confirm that you’re ready to have a call with your mentor.


Your mentor will then reach out to you within a few days to schedule a call and walk through the Program Requirements with you. During the call, be prepared to reflect on where you feel like you’re feeling successful in implementing the Program Requirements and where you might need additional support.

After your call, your mentor will complete this step on your checklist, which will allow you to move onto the next step.

Recommit to the Program Requirements

During this step, we will ask you to recommit to the Summit Learning Program Requirements. This will require you to upload evidence/plans for each Program Requirement in order to show that you are willing and able to meet the Program Requirements in the 2019 - 2020 School Year.

Once you finish submitting your re-commitment, your mentor will review your materials. If everything looks right, they will mark this step as complete. If anything is missing or they feel like they need additional clarification, they will ask you to resubmit the materials that are still under review.

Identify teachers that would like to join for 2019 - 2020

Once your mentor approves your materials, we’ll let you start inviting your teachers to complete their applications for the 2019 - 2020 School Year.

The most important thing to remember is that each teacher needs to be part of a Grade Level Team (a team of teachers that covers at least all 4 core subjects within a single grade).

After you invite your teachers, you’ll be able to see their application status by clicking into this task.

That's it! You've completed your renewal checklist. Once you add in your teachers, your mentor will reach out to you with next steps, such as signing up new Grade-Level Teams for Summer Training. 

If you have any questions during this process, please reach out to your mentor, who will be the best person to answer your questions throughout renewal.
