How do I conduct an observation?

There are 2 main ways to conduct an observation.

Start Observation with Observe Button

    1. Go to Educator Tools in the menu on the left.
    2. Click Observations.
    3. Click Observe in the upper right hand corner of the Observations page.
    4. Search for a person to Observe by name or email.
    5. Select the Summit Learning structure you are observing.
    6. As you are conducting the Observation, add Look Fors and mark them as evidence or missed opportunities. You can optionally add notes to each Look For you have added.
    7. Once you are done, click Review in the upper right hand corner of the page.
    8. You can choose one of three options:
      1. Edit - if you would like to go back and edit your observation.
      2. Close - if you would like to revisit this observation later without sharing. You can edit it at a later point (as long as you have not shared the observation with the person).
      3. Share - if you would like to immediately share with the person you are observing. You will not be able to edit the observation after you have shared it.
